Gomathi is currently a Special Education teacher in the Santa Clara County School district after completing her Master’s degree in Special Education. Her MA thesis project addressed California teachers’ perceptions, practices, and knowledge of phonemic awareness. She is passionate about increasing literacy rates with one classroom at a time and enthusiastic about spreading Jolly Phonics to more students and teachers.
Gomathi ran a very successful phonics center in India and also designed English curriculums that integrated Jolly phonics/grammar for schools in India. She has trained and supported teachers as they implemented the Jolly phonics/grammar curriculum successfully across many grades.
