With something as simple as a letter sound, children need a ‘hook’ to remember it. Repetition is not enough. By giving a story, that leads to an action, where the letter sound is spoken, children quickly remember – and find it fun. Jolly Phonics is rigorous in teaching step by step. As more is taught so the storybooks follow the teaching. It is all within the children’s reach. They are all able to make swift progress.
