2025 Jolly Learning Roadmap:
As a new year begins, we’re excited to look ahead and proud to look back at what has been a pivotal year of change for Jolly Learning. With a new CEO, the launch of two Literacy programmes, and the expansion of our digital offering, 2024 was truly all systems go! In this article, we look at how we’ve changed and what you can expect from us in the coming months.
Last year saw some significant changes in our business. Our founder Chris Jolly passed the mantle to Gilbert Jolly after 37 years as Managing Director.
During this time, Chris saw incredible achievements in the impact of Jolly Phonics on world literacy. He also had the tremendous honour of being awarded an OBE for his service and contributions to education.
As well as this, we expanded our Marketing function – with new partners in the US and India – to help us better understand and speak to our customers in these regions.
We also picked up the Independent Publisher’s Guild ‘Education Publisher of the Year Award’ – for the fourth time!
On top of this, 2024 saw our team working hard on the creation of several new products to better serve our community of educators.
One of the key changes you’ll see this year is the launch of our two new Jolly Literacy programmes:
Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation (formerly Jolly Grammar) provides two lessons a week. It teaches new spelling patterns, dictionary and thesaurus skills, and complex grammatical concepts in an engaging and child-friendly way.
Reading Comprehension & Writing Skills provides two further weekly lessons. In the first, children explore a variety of texts that interweave the spelling, vocabulary and grammar learned that week.
The second lesson uses those texts as a springboard for stimulating ideas and introducing strategies to promote creative, independent writing.
Together, these new programmes offer the perfect literacy package – with resources covering Years 1 to 6.
We’ve also significantly expanded our Decodable Readers range, with our new Folktales Readers. This series of beautifully illustrated books retells traditional folktales from around the globe.
The books have a carefully controlled vocabulary and are designed for children learning to read and write with Jolly Phonics.
We’ve developed our digital offering, too – adding Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation lessons for Year 1 to Jolly Classroom.
Jolly Classroom subscribers will also benefit from a new digital assessment tool for Jolly Phonics (launching early 2025). This tool is designed to transform how teachers monitor progress and provide support. It aligns seamlessly with the teaching order for Jolly Phonics and Jolly Classroom – providing class-wide trend analysis to pinpoint areas for improvement.
Customisable reporting allows you to compare specific groups to the rest of your class, helping you gain valuable insights. The tool also identifies students at risk of falling behind and groups those with similar learning gaps, for easier intervention planning.
As well as our new products, we’ve launched a new-look website! Be sure to visit it to browse our revamped product pages, blog and more…
We have plans to expand our Decodable Readers further with the launch of our new Pink Readers in Spring 2025.
These fully decodable books are aimed at children just starting to read. They follow on from our popular Little Word Books, sitting before Red Level, and include short words and phrases – making 8-page stories that are simple but fun!
As always, we’ll be exhibiting at The London Book Fair and The Frankfurt Book Fair this year, so visit our stand to see our new products for yourself!
We also have a packed monthly webinar programme, so stay tuned to our social channels and website for all the details.
We’re incredibly excited about the year ahead, and bringing you even more products to keep your students motivated and engaged in their literacy learning!

Jolly Learning has been active in its part of education for a long time but it’s impressive to see it still broadening its horizons — globally and digitally. It’s an ambitious publisher on a mission.
